Ein Gedi
On Thursday, Dad rented a car and drove for 2 hours to Ein Gedi. The drive was very interesting because we drove through the desert for half the time.
Ein Gedi is a big park where there is a lot of wildlife. My favorite was the Rock Hyrax and Ibex. When we arrived at Ein Gedi, we had a snack and changed into our bathing suits. Then we walked around on the shorter path. There were lots of pretty waterfalls and lots of Rock Hyrax! Then we splashed around in some pools and saw a very pretty waterfall called the King David. After that the park was closing so we had to leave. Then we drove to the Youth Hostel at the foot of Masada where we were staying. Then we ate dinner and went to bed.
Masada
On Friday, we woke up at 7:30 am, ate breakfast, and walked to Masada. At Masada, they had this option to take the cable car up or to walk up this path called the snake path. Mom and Dad made us walk up. It was not shady, very hot out, and very steep/exhausting. We finally got up. It took us almost an hour and a half to walk up and we only spent about 20 minutes up there. The view from the top was amazing. After that we took the cable car down, because it was too steep/dangerous to walk down. Then we had lunch. After lunch we rested for a little bit, then drove to the Dead Sea.
Dead Sea
Once we got to the Dead Sea we drank some water then got in. We walked in till we could crouch, then we laid back and floated! I pushed myself like a row boat until I couldn't stand and then I put my feet down and was standing up, but my feet couldn't touch the ground. The feeling was amazing/wonderful. The Dead Sea is so salty that you can only stay in there for 15 minutes before getting out. The salt also stings your cuts. I loved the Dead Sea, Masada, and Ein Gedi😄😄😺
